Women can Spread the Word of God Too.

An often debated issue with in the Protestant faith is whether or not women should be allowed to serve in the church as ministers, elders or deacons. As a woman, I am quite partial to allowing women taking on any role she feels called to do. Often times people quote the Bible at the places where it says that “women should keep silent in the church,” but what about at Jesus’ Resurrection?

The first people he saw were women and the first thing he told them to do were to “go and tell other what you have seen.” Is that not basically what a minister does?

Where Are You Placing Your Vote?

Politics are mentioned in the bible in numerous places. When politics begin to rule man, God tries to remind people of what is really important, to have faith in God.

Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
(NIV)

The Bible tells us that politics are needed, but God must come first and our fellow man second. This record breaking political year has many people arguing political views and issues. What they should be discussing is how the Lord would react. Which candidate is most living up to God’s way? The candidate’s positions on political issues aren’t what’s important. Their morals and values are. A person with a solid moral background will most likely to do the right thing. Who will you be giving your vote? I will be voting for God and the candidate who is most likely to live as God wants us to live.

Give and You Will Receive

God wants us to be generous and give. There are several passages in the Bible attesting to the fact that giving is the way of the Lord. The giving must be pure with no hidden motives. You can fool others, you can kid yourself, but the Lord will always see the truth in your heart. There are several ways to give. Volunteering is one way to show you care by giving of yourself.

Giving gifts is another way, it shows thoughtfulness. Monetary gifts are versatile and can be used where needed. Whichever method of giving you choose, it should be what works best for you.

Luke 6:38, Jesus says,
“… for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.”

Overcome Jealousy and Greed

The modern world is full of greedy people coveting other people’s  property, positions, or possessions. When one covets what another has, they are showing a lack of faith that the Lord will provide. People also don’t see what they have and end up losing it while in pursuit of that which they don’t have. In the end, the items we want so desperately to hold on to or gain are worthless. What we have done with our lives is how God judges us.

Begin this week by choosing not to be greedy. Before going after whatever thing you want, ask yourself: “Do I really NEED this”? Use the money your were going to spend on that item to buy a gourmet gift for someone else. Thou Shall Not Covet is the most broken commandment. We  all need to try harder not to want what others have. Strive to be a person who doesn’t let greed run your life.

Infant Baptism

“Jesus answered, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.’ ” (John 3:5)

At what age does a child need baptized? There is much controversy in this matter. Some say baptism is for people who have accepted Jesus into their lives. Infants are too young to known if they did wrong and to repent their sins. Others say that Jesus wanted the children, encouraged parents to have them brought to him.

“Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God’” (Luke 18:15–16).

Choosing infant baptism is a personal choice made by parents. Often it will become a celebration with a gathering of friends and family and gifts for the infant. Many gifts idea include engraved Bibles, crucifixes, St. Christopher medallions, and Bible story themed blankets or throws. A Bless This Baby gift basket, from TheBasketSpot.com,  is a beautiful gift which includes an embroidered Bible and silver crucifix included.

Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda

Too often we look back and wish we had done something different. You could have visited Grandma before she passed away. You should have said "I love you" more to your previous spouse. You would have spent more time with your children had you not been so busy. Now is the time to stop wishing you could change previous actions.

Start forming your future past by doing in the present. Today is tomorrows yesterday. Make tomorrows memories what you want them to be. Call or visit someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Thank someone in your life that deserves it. Compliment a stranger. Live the life God intended us to live today and you will have no coulda, shoulda, woulda’s to regret.

Resisting the Gossip Chain

So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Romans 14:22

People in general love to gossip about one another. Gossiping can be harmful and even mean. Remember the game “Telephone” when you were a child? Everyone would sit in a circle. A person would start off and whisper a statement in the person’s ear beside them. Each person would then turn and retell the sentence to the person on the other side of them until it went all around the circle. The last person would say the sentence out loud. More times than not, the story had changed drastically from the original.

The same happens as adults, but it isn’t a game. Lives can be ruined and names can be slandered. Before spreading stories around, ask yourself how you would feel if it was about you. I’m pretty sure you would then keep it between you and God. The gift of silence can be priceless.

Striving For Personal growth

Improving one’s self and gaining skills are both part of personal growth. To become humble and less self-righteous is what we should work towards. Becoming self aware and believing in yourself is the first step. Once you are aware of who you are and you believe you can become who you want to become, you are ready to accept the Lord into your life. If the Lord already resides in your heart, you are ready to make a life game plan. Set your goals and strive to meet them. Goals don’t have to be monstrous. Goals can be as easy as vowing to say “Have a great day” to 10 people every day or buying someone a unique gift, once a week.

The last part of personal growth is taking responsibility for your actions. To admit fault and refrain from placing blame is the hardest part. Once you master that, the rest is easy.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
Romans 12:3

Jesus’ Gift

Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, "He has been raised from the dead and is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Behold, I have told you." -  Matthew 28:1-10

Today is glorious Easter day, when Jesus rose from the dear to sit at the right hand of God. His gift to us was atonement for our sins and the promise of everlasting life. What better way to show our appreciation by following his lead. Live each day practicing the three “Gs”:

Grace
Gratitude
Generosity

Hold yourself with poise and grace. Be thankful for what you receive generously to others. Do so without motive or agenda.

Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.
Luke 6:38

Healing of The Heart

In my church, there is a group of ladies that make gifts for the sick and injured members of the congregation. They spend Saturday afternoons preparing the surprises. Each Monday they deliver the presents to either the home or the hospital room of the recipient. These items are homemade gift baskets customized to each ill member’s likes. The person’s spirits on the receiving end are always lifted up when they see the basket made especially for them.

I wish I could custom make every gift I give. One of these days when I have more time, I am gonna become one of the “Basket Ladies” as we fondly call them.  Until the day comes that I can help, there are sites like The Basket Spot to assist me with my heartfelt giving. Do you have any favorite gift sites you utilize that you care to share with everyone?

Giving vs. Receiving

On last Sunday, one of my partners, in the ministry, gave me a gourmet gift basket for my birthday.  It was really nice and I actually enjoyed it.  Most of the time, I’m not good at excepting gifts for other people because I’m so use to giving gift instead of receiving gifts.

The spirit of God laid it on my heart to do a search on why it’s important to give and to receive.  We have to realize that when we receive gifts, we are allowing that person, who gave you the gift, to do exactly what they are suppose to do.  You are helping doors to be opened for them.  You are allowing them to operate in the will and call that God has ordained for them.

For so long, I was extremely shy about receiving gift, because I thought people would assume I’m all about the money.  But from the start, Jonas Clark Ministries have been about giving back to the needy and pouring into families.  We strongly believe in the power of giving.  Our mission is to reach people way beyond our walls and to touch individuals that didn’t even know they needed to be touched.

But we have to remember that receiving is also apart of giving.

Growing Your Ministry

If you’ve been in ministry for some time now, I’m pretty sure you know how hard it can be to grow your ministry.

It’s always hard to get the word out and find loyal, committed people to help you push your ministry forward.

One of the things that I want to remind you of is that we’re living in a different day and time.  Churches are no longer being built on allot of word of mouth or mere principle.  In order for you to grow your ministry, your ministry will have to offer your people a great word from God and also consistent outreach ministries.

Marketing and advertising is also a very important aspect of church growth.

And always remember, the Internet is a great catalyst to church growth.

Why giving is the catalyst to receiving

Most people fail to realize the importance of giving.  Giving is a requirement of good living.  Giving is what opens the door for you to receive.

It took me awhile to realize how valuable the principle of giving could be to my life.  I always thought giving was an option and that I needed to hold really tight to my money.

I felt like I worked hard for my money and belongings, therefore I should keep them.

But it took some unforeseen circumstances for me to change my mind.

Based on experience, the more you give, the more you receive.  You give to make room to receive.  It’s kind of like having a closet full of clothes that you need to get rid of.  If you don’t get rid of them, how will you fit new clothes in the closet.

God is calling us to give.  Give, Give, and keep Giving.  He wants to bless us with more and more.  In order for him to bless us, we must bless other people.

The formula is very simple, give then receive.

Jesus’ missions

The purpose and creation of jesus Christ was for 2 reasons:

Redemption  and

Salvation

The bible says that in the beginning was the word, and the word was god and the word was with god.  For simplicity purposes, Jesus is the word.  He’s the living word.

Jesus is a walking example of the word.   While Jesus was here on earth, he was just as human as we are.  His mission was to give us an example of how we are suppose to live our lives here on earth.  He set the perfect example of how we are to handle life, even thought things may not go as planned.  Jesus was persecuted, spit on, treated bad, and ultimately betrayed.  He experienced allot of the headaches we experience today.  He was no different than us, in that his life was full of ups and downs.

My point in this post is to help you realize that your ultimately goal in life is should be to stay focused.  Stay focused on your purpose and your destiny.  Jesus didn’t sway from  what his purpose was.  He stayed focused.  He never swayed.  He knew who he was and what his mission was.

What is your purpose and mission?  Whatever it is, stick with it, no matter what!

Leap of Faith

When you believe in something that has no empirical evidence of occurring in present or near future, it is referred to as the Leap of Faith. No matter what may be the circumstances, there is an undeniable faith in God or the supernatural energy that guides us all. This faith helps us to keep going even in the troubled times. When the boat of life sails through the choppy waters, the element of faith in the supernatural guiding energy keeps us going.

The Church has always preached the faith in God. With the world talking about so much of negativities and witnessing wars, bombings, inhuman acts on children, women or the poor, it is only the Leap of faith that makes us believe that some day a new day would dawn with a Messiah or an avatar of God would come down on Earth to set all things right. The term was first used by Kirkegaard who used it in reference to Adam and Eve where he illicit how one faith leaps to another in search of better living.

Evangelism: Reaching Out Without Limitations

Be a part of evangelistic society! It helps to serve the ones who are not in touch with God. Jesus wanted each one to love and prosper. Most of the churches are not able to reach out to the people outside their local area due to the financial constraints. Evangelism deals most with preaching Gospels of Jesus Christ to everyone. It is not mandatory to preach only the Christians. Moreover, serving people in lesser developed countries poses more economical problems to the local churches. They are mostly driven by the financial problems but should this mean that Gospels would always remain confined to the four walls.

Evangelism spells more than exchange of money for the services rendered. It is something that is driven towards improving life and living standards. One needs to create a cause to drive men and women towards better living. One cannot be designated as an Evangelist. It is a way of life that uses Gospel of Christ to make people understand about better life. Moreover, it is important that people should be able to experience the teachings rather than listening to them over and over again. Serving the locals and their needs would impress far better than your hundred words. Remember, Actions speaks louder than words!

Manage your budget on the people who are more adaptive. It is not wise to use your resource on the orthodox or believers of other faith. It would be easier for you put forth your point of view to a person with more adaptable attitude.

Moreover, budgets and money matters can restrict you to reach out to people. You need to be creative to put forth your belief in front of other people. Creativity would delimit your budget constraints. Moreover, it is not wise to rely on people with big titles or better reputations. You can build your own reputation. However, if you are able to get endorsements from higher ranks, it would be really helpful.

Evangelism is about reaching out with love and better life to the people. Although, you need to tread carefully along the guidelines stipulated for you, nevertheless, if you believe in your beliefs, you would be able to overcome any constraints or limitations automatically.

Prosperity in and out of the Church

I am actually impressed with the Jonas Clark Ministries. I have been a believer a very long time having been saved during my youth and baptized about eight years ago. I just finished reading the article Prosperity and Evangelism. I have often wondered to myself where religion is going and for some time now it seems religion has been going into our pockets in the form of dollar bills.

I understand ministries need money to function properly and spread the word of God, but I often wonder if all that money is being put to good use. I can think of several religious leaders today who live in mansion style homes and where designer suits and jewelry. They say it is because God has blessed them for all their diligence and hard work.

Unfortunately, I wonder if their followers are hearing the gospel because it IS the word of God, or because they think the Word of God will lead them to wealth and riches. I’m not arguing being blessed, I myself have been blessed with beautiful children and a loving marriage. I just want to make sure believers are believing for the right reasons.

I agree with Jonas Clark Ministries on their stand for reform and revision of tithes and donations. We are to go forth and spread the Word of God so it is about time we as believers return to the grounds of evangelism and bring others to the knowledge and salvation of God and no longer focus on our financial rewards. After all, God will provide for us what is truly needed.

Jonas Clark Ministries: The Power of God in Our hands

Jonas Clark Ministries is a worldwide organization that is striving to bring the word and power of God back into the lives of believers. Jonas Clark is spreading the truth of the Word as well as revealing the power that we all as believers possess against Satan and his demons. His soft cover book, Come Out!, deliberately delves into the world of possession and witchcraft and teaches us how to fight and resist the evil that struggles to consume our souls every day. Through his guide, believers can learn scriptures to cast out devils as well as reveal the hidden ways in which they enter our lives. The goal of the Jonas Clark Ministry is to give the power of God back into the hands of his faithful followers.

William Joseph Seymour

William Joseph Seymour
(1870 - 1922)
William Seymour
William Joseph Seymour was the co-founder of modern Pentecostalism. Brother Seymour will surely go down in history as one of Americas greatest African American religious leaders. You have heard lots about Azusa. Now meet the man who, during times of intercession, stuck his head between two milk crates and prayed for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost. And you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost comes upon you.”

It was January 1st, 1901, the first day of the new century, when Agnes M. Ozman was baptized with the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.

In Topeka Kansas there was Bethel Bible School founded by Charles Fox Parham. This school was the 20th Century birthing place of this divine outpouring in the United States. Within a year Brother Parham and other students were also baptized and Brother Parham closed the school and began to conduct revival meetings throughout the mid-west.

God loves sacrificial gifts!

What I’ve learned over the years is that when God asked for an offering, he always asked for a sacrifice.   Some people may say, what is a sacrifice?

A sacrifice is a gift that you give away that you want.  It’s something that you would like to keep and enjoy.  A sacrifice is not something that you don’t want.  It’s something that you and somebody else would definitely use.

A sacrificial gift could be clothes, shoes, a car, your time, food, and much much more.

The reason I’m writing about this subject is that my aunt asked me to give her 1 of our cars.  My family has 3 cars; A 2004 BMW, 2002 Honda Accord, and a 1992 Honda Accord.  All 3 cars are in GREAT condition.  They all work really well, even the 1992 Honda Accord.   I love our cars and it would definitely be a sacrificial gift to my aunt.

I haven’t spoken to my spouse about this yet, therefore I don’t have a concrete answer to give her.  But what I’ve realized is that God always requires us to give, so that we can make room for more that he wants to give us.

Come Out!by Jonas Clark

Handbook For The Serious Deliverance Minister.

Great for bible study and cell groups too!

AS I HAVE TRAVELED THROUGHOUT various countries of the world it is amazing to me just how often the ministry of deliverance is misunderstood. After a particular meeting some years ago, a devoted pastor asked me if I would pray for a young lady in his church who had been tormented for years by demons. He said that they had tried to cast the devils out of her for five years without success. That night she walked away free from the powers of darkness.

This event showed me just how many good, well meaning and devoted believers there are who do not understand the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to set the captives free.

In our modern society thousands are coming into our churches from the occult, witchcraft, spiritualism and the new age movement. They are going to need help from us that transcends any natural counseling abilities. This simply means that deliverance can no longer be ignored.

One of the main reasons that people do not set the captives free is a lack of knowledge of the scriptures and the authority given to them by Jesus in this area of ministry. It is my sincere desire to see people dramatically changed through the deliverance ministry. It is time for the church to exercise her authority against Satan who has been allowed to maintain his oppression without a challenge. In this handbook we will learn…
